Blair
and Jessica Morrison
44 Paradise Lake St., Lucknow, Ontario
(519) 528-5374
Description: Whitefield
farm is the culmination of a long held
dream for Blair and Jessica Morrison.
Both graduating from the University of
Guelph with their degrees in Agriculture,
they had farming on their minds and in
their hearts. It was only natural that
they should come home to Blair's home
farm which has been in the Morrison name
for 5 generations. After severing a piece
of their own little heaven, they set to
work building a low energy, low impact,
Eco friendly strawbale house. With deep
respect for nature and a concern for health
the farm is organically run. Two teams
of Norwegian Fjord draft horses help get
the work done, along with seasonal interns
and member volunteers. The CSA season
runs 18 weeks starting mid June and is
full of newsletters, events, and opportunities
to create a stronger connection with the
food you eat, the people who grow it and
the community members. There's always
something going on around Whitefield farm
so check it out on Facebook, the website,
or stop on by!

- Breaking
Ground CSA
Elizabeth Bryan
424108
RR#1 Shelburne, Ontario
(519) 939-6875
Description: Breaking Ground CSA
is a new CSA in Dufferin County. We grow
our vegetables and animals on our small
family farm in Dufferin County, ON.
We
are striving to farm in a way that will
provide stewardship of the Earth. We attempt
to create a balance between production
and allowing nature to thrive. We aim
to encourage soil fertility, not through
man made fertilizers but through nitrogen
fixing crops, composts and micro organisms
in the soil. We are attempting to limit
our pollution by making wise decisions
as to when to drive or use the tractor.
We are encouraging bio diversity through
permaculture gardens, hertage varieties
and intercropping.
Agriculture has always been a part of
our community here on our family farm.
We value community as essential to the
sustainable future. Community is about
coming together to help each other out,
its about hard work and dedication. Its
about caring for something outside yourself.
With this in mind, we will use a portion
of the proceeds from each summer's CSA
and egg sales to send kids to camp. The
camp that we will be supporting is Cairn
Camping and Retreat Centre in Baysville,
ON. This is a place that really values
community and realizes that building relationships
is the most important thing about going
to camp. We hope that as you become involved
in Breaking Ground, you begin to feel
more and more like part of our community.
Produce: Breaking Ground CSA grows
all sorts of vegetables and fruits to
be put in our shares each week. We offer
pasture raised beef for pre order before

Description: The Kitchen Garden
has been dedicated to growing high quality,
nutrient dense vegetables since 2009.
We are located on a small farm nestled
in the Wilton valley, about 25 minutes
from Kingston.
As small farmers we work the land to promote
the health of both our environment and
community. The focus is always to meet
and exceed the parameters of organic practices
and standards.
The nutritional quality of our vegetables
is of primary concern. Every year our
soils and crops are evaluated by multiple
testing methods and the response of quality
conscious customers. The soil is amended
using complex recipes of rock dusts and
minerals, tillage is minimized and cover
cropping is extensively practiced in order
to maintain optimum soil, plant, and human
health. This translates into extraordinary
flavours, colours and textures, extended
shelf life and high nutrient density in
all the food we grow. For more information

Description: At Whole
Circle, we believe that organic agriculture
is much more than avoiding herbicides
and pesticides. We feel sustainable agriculture
incorporates the health of all things:
the soil, the natural ecosystem, the farmers,
the community, and individual people.
Taking a 'wholistic' and biodynamic approach,
we consider what is best for the entire
web of life and farm accordingly. We believe
it is important to put a fair price on
our sustenance to encourage sound farming
practices and ensure social and environmental
justice. We must treat the land with care
if we wish to live well in return.
The real success of our farm is in what
we produce. Along with the organic grain,
honey, pastured meat and free-range eggs
we sell, our vegetables are of the highest
quality. We harvest all our vegetables
when they are fully ripe, ensuring taste
and nutrition is at its peak, often the
same day as the pick up - talk about fresh!
We purchase non-GMO seeds from reputable,
conscientious seed companies, selecting
over 100 different types including rare

- Small
Spade CSA
Lauren Nurse
536 Salem Road, Stirling, Ontario (416)
897-3462
Description: Small Spade's CSA program
is based upon the french intensive market
garden system - a sustainable model for
agriculture followed throughout the the
19th century, "la culture maraîchère"
was an extremely successful (and environmentally
sustainable) way for Parisian farmers
to produce enough food to feed the city
on only one or two acres of land. Using
only organic methods and natural inputs,
we aim to follow to same model of farming
on one acre of land - a "maraîchère microfarm",
if you like.
Located in Stirling,
Ontario, we are about two and a half hours
from Toronto. We only grow heirloom variety
vegetables - no GMO or hybrid veg allowed!
As sustainable food producers, we are
concerned that control over seeds, and
therefore our food, will become limited
to a handful of corporations that breed
varieties for appearance and suitability
to industrial production, not taste or
nutrition. To prevent this from happening,
we grow only heirloom varieties, and save
seed year after year, to preserve the
genetic lines and the history of these
ancient foods that have sustained us for
sometimes hundreds of years.
Produce: Assorted heirloom vegetables
- Tomatoes, tomatillos, hot peppers, salad
greens of all types, (mustards, arugula,
specialty asian greens) beets, carrots,
beans, turnips, peas, radish, horseradish,
garlic, summer and winter squash, potatoes,
leeks, onions and assorted herbs. Produce:
