local agriculture. We seek to improve
the connection between eaters, farmers,
the local economy and the environment.
- We are an urban CSA supplying weekly
produce baskets in Kingston
- We offer fresh produce sourced from
local and organic farms and businesses
- We offer a selection of fabulous
coffee, tea, honey, meat, fish and
cheese
- We provide catering for a variety
of occasions
- We support local food programs,
community gardening, and provide hands-on
agricultural and nutrition education
and training
How our urban CSA works:
Main Street Market supplies a variety
of local produce, for fresh use and
storage. We offer four basic sizes of
basket, including a full and half share.
Details on the two new basket options
are coming soon! If you love vegetables
and are feeding a family, the full is
for you. If you need to feed 1-2 people
a half share might suit. You can also
split a full share with friends/family.
You will be supplied with vegetables
from May until October, and be first
on the list for a freezer or cold-cellar
share at the end of the growing season.
We will also supply sourcing details,
recipes, and storage tips to help you
get to know your harvest. And, you can
add any additional items we offer to
your basic share. You will be sent an
invoice for extra items (coffee, eggs,
meat, baked goods, gift baskets).
If you are unable to pickup, maybe Green
Delivery would suit you? Your share
can be delivered to your (downtown)
home by bicycle.
Alternately, if you are not ready to
sign up for a full season, you can join
our contact list and receive bi-weekly
updates of what is available. You may
then submit custom orders.
Key messages:
Main Street Market welcomes collaborators
and offers internships and workshares.
Collaborators are invited to submit
proposals. Interns may join us for a
season to learn about the local food
system with hands-on experience in the
Main Street Market urban CSA. Workshares
are for eaters who'd like to work for
their share of vegetables. If you would
like to get more involved in our local
food system please get in touch so we
can talk about how we might work together.
