Hollow Lane Farm is a 100 acre mixed
family farm south of Sarsfield (east
of Ottawa). They raise a variety of
livestock, with emphasis on organic
Highland beef. The vegetable gardens
are in a south-facing meadow surrounded
by hayfields, orchards and pasture.
The entire farm is run using organic
principles following OCIA standards.
With so many vegetables, we have no
problem rotating many different crops
through the different plots. We also
use farm-generated manure and cover
crops to maintain the beautiful sandy
loam that nature has provided. The Veggie
Adventure CSA with 25 weeks of summer
and fall vegetables for those who buy
a share of the harvest at the start
of the season.
Where we sell our products: Vegetables
for sale at the Cumberland Farmers Market,
Cumberland Arena, Dunning Road, Cumberland
Ontario. CSA Pickup locations will be
in Sarsfield, Ontario (directly from
the farm) and a location in Orleans
to be announced. Full share $750 (includes
some U-pick and cutting garden privilges)
and half share $400 (includes cutting
garden priviliges). Work shares also
available. Each share includes a supply
of 8-12 different vegetables per week,
plus a supply of garlic, squash and
onions for winter storage.
